These creamy blueberry pie overnight oats taste like dessert for breakfast but are actually good for you. With just 5 minutes of prep the night before, you wake up to a thick, jammy, and perfectly sweet breakfast that keeps you full for hours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (100g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk of your choice (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk)
  • ½ cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons (30-45ml) maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) chia seeds (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Zest of ½ lemon

Instructions

  1. Mash the blueberries: In a small bowl, take about ¼ cup of the blueberries and mash them with a fork until they release their juices and form a chunky paste. Set the rest of the berries aside.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients: In a medium bowl or directly in your jar, whisk together the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the dry ingredients: Stir in the rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and a tiny pinch of salt. Mix until everything is evenly distributed and the oats are fully submerged in the liquid.
  4. Add the blueberries and lemon zest: Gently fold in the mashed blueberries, the remaining whole blueberries, and the lemon zest. Do not overmix—you want some pockets of whole berries and some swirls of jammy blueberry.
  5. Divide into jars: Pour the mixture evenly into two 16-ounce jars or airtight containers, leaving a little room at the top for expansion.
  6. Refrigerate overnight: Put the lids on and place the jars in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Serve cold or at room temperature: In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If too thick, stir in a splash of milk to loosen it up.
  8. Add toppings (optional): A few extra fresh blueberries, a drizzle of maple syrup, or a sprinkle of granola on top.

Notes

For best results, use old-fashioned rolled oats, not quick oats. If using frozen blueberries, do not thaw them first. The lemon zest is a secret ingredient that brightens the flavor. The oats will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
