These easy savory ham and Swiss sliders are quick to prepare, featuring soft Hawaiian rolls layered with ham and melty Swiss cheese, topped with a buttery mustard glaze. Perfect for game nights, casual gatherings, or brunch, they deliver comforting, crowd-pleasing flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian slider rolls
  • 12 slices thinly sliced deli ham (preferably honey ham)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese (Emmi or Jarlsberg recommended)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping top and bottom connected if possible, or slice completely and arrange bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Place one slice of ham on each bottom half, then add a slice of Swiss cheese over the ham, covering the roll edges.
  4. Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese and press down lightly without squishing the rolls.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds until combined.
  6. Generously brush the butter glaze over the tops of the sliders.
  7. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is melted. Tent with foil if tops brown too quickly.
  9. Let sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing into individual portions and serving.

Notes

If rolls are smaller, reduce baking time by a couple of minutes to avoid dryness. Sliders can be assembled the night before and refrigerated; add extra baking time if baking from chilled. Use gluten-free rolls and check condiments for gluten to make gluten-free. Substitute vegan margarine and dairy-free cheese for dairy-free version. Use a spoon if no basting brush is available. Keep knife sharp for clean slicing.
